What is chemical nickel-plating?

Chemical nickel-plating is a highly corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant and anti-friction deposit. The plating is carried out chemically without the use of an electric current, thus allowing treatment on any substrate and geometry. Since it is a chemical process and not an electrolytic one, a coating of extremely uniform thickness is obtained regardless of the geometry of the workpiece.

It is possible to carry out frame treatment or rotobarrel treatment depending on the characteristics of the part and the technical requirements. The chemical-nickel deposit has a hardness of 500-600 HV and can be increased by heat-treating the coated workpiece to values even higher than 1000 HV.

A protective coating for every metal

Materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, copper, brass and aluminum can be coated. The resistance to corrosion, thanks to the presence of high percentages of phosphorus, the hardness attainable thanks to subsequent heat treatments and the strong adhesion to the substrate make chemical nickel-plating one of the most versatile and effective coatings on the market.
