Non-stick polymer coatings

Tailor-made coatings to protect components from chemical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental stress

Contact us

Non-stick coatings prevent solid or liquid substances from adhering to treated surfaces, improving production efficiency and ensuring operational continuity even under critical conditions.

Formulated with fluoropolymers, silicones, or ceramic-based blends, non-stick coatings ensure low friction coefficient, chemical and abrasion resistance, and long-lasting performance over time. Gruppo Gaser applies them on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, light alloys, brass, composites, and plastics, using tailored thermal cycles according to service conditions.

They are widely used in industries such as food processing, packaging, printing, plastics and rubber, automotive, mechanical engineering, furniture, and medical equipment, where low adhesion, residue-free release, PFAS-free compliance, and resistance to mechanical, chemical, or thermal stress are required, including direct food-contact applications.

Main advantages of non-stick coatings

Long-lasting non-stick effect

Drastically reduces adhesion of plastics, adhesives, resins, inks, even at high temperature

Food-contact compliant and PFAS-free non-stick performance

Ensures reliable non-stick behavior in compliance with food contact regulations and PFAS-free standards, ideal for trays, molds, and processing components

Increased operational efficiency

Minimizes buildup and unplanned downtime, allowing multiple production cycles without intermediate cleaning

Chemical protection

Fluorinated and ceramic coatings resist aggressive substances, oils, greases, solvents, and industrial detergents

Application versatility

Capable of coating complex, microperforated, or large surfaces, even with tight tolerances

Customizable finishes

Gloss level, color, texture, and coating thickness can be tailored to the application, ensuring both functional and aesthetic results

Frequently asked questions (FAQ): non-stick coatings

What is the difference between PTFE coatings and other non-stick solutions?

The main differences are:

  • Chemical nature: PTFE is an inert fluoropolymer, highly resistant to aggressive chemicals.
  • Non-stick, oleophobic and hydrophobic properties: PTFE reduces adhesion of both aqueous and oily substances.
  • Thermal stability: PTFE maintains its performance up to 260 °C in continuous operation.
  • Mechanical resistance: generally lower compared to other coatings, unless reinforced with primers or mineral fillers.

How long does an industrial non-stick coating last?

The service life of a coating depends on the operating conditions.
There is no universal value: its “useful life” varies depending on the environment and process-specific stresses.

Main influencing factors include:

  • Chemical environment: aggressive agents can accelerate wear, especially under prolonged or cyclic exposure.
  • Abrasion or mechanical stress: impacts, friction, or repeated motion can reduce the integrity of the protective layer.
  • Operating temperature: each coating has an optimal range; excessive heat may compromise its properties.
  • Pressure or applied loads: high or continuous stress, especially if localized, may cause deformation or delamination over time.

Knowing these variables is essential to select the most suitable solution and ensure durable performance.

Is it food safe? Are certifications available?

Food-contact suitability depends on the chemical composition of the coating. Gruppo Gaser offers PFAS-free solutions that can be certified according to current regulations, ensuring compliance and safety for direct food-contact applications.
