Ferritic Nitrocarburizing with Post-Oxidation

Surface Hardening Treatments

Cover
Main board

Ferritic Nitrocarburizing with Post-Oxidation is a thermochemical treatment through which the superficial layer of a steel is enriched with nitrogen and carbon. Such process produces a reinforced surface layer that increases the hardness of the superficial layer: after the process of surface enrichment we will move onto a controlled and undergoes a controlled oxidation cycle, in an oven set under specific temperatures. This process is facilitated by the action of specific gases that generate an oxide veil of a few microns thickness giving it a typical black colouring.

  • Improved resistance to wear and tear
  • Improved resistance to stress
  • Less Friction
  • 96 hours resistance in salt spray tests according to UNI norms
